As much as I had anticipated my stay at this wonderful little inn, I may have put my hopes up a little high. Staying there 3 nights, I can safely say that its not as fancy as the Algonquin, but comes a close second. The suite, grand and clean nonetheless, had a few drawbacks. The air conditioning units are insanely loud (and I think its the same for every room), the jacuzzi can only be turned on before 9:30pm (honestly, who enjoys a jet bath before then is beyond me), the king size bed was as hard as a wooden board, and the back decks are all shared between tenants. We tried to bring it up the bed situation very politely to the owners (since a little foam top could have resolved that easily) but were quickly dismissed with a oh but everyone raves about the bed in the suite response so we immediately knew wed get no assistance with the bed issue and dropped it. Aside from that, the owners seemed friendly enough and made a pretty spectacular continental breakfast each morning. If youre looking for a bit of luxury but dont want to pay the local resort prices, then this is for you.
Great mussels and flatbreads. The pear and prosciutto flatbread is out of this world!
This is the ONLY review you need. It IS that one in a million, comfortable, beautiful, and all around peaceful find. And the restaurant is the best in town. I've been all over the world, and we even got dressed up one night to set out on the town. After 200 meters, we turned around and laughed saying "ours is so much better, and we can walk 10 steps after dinner"
We stayed in room 3. Very clean and the bed was the comfiest I've ever slept in - I didn't want to get out of bed the next morning! The owners were also very nice. Didn't try the restaurant.
Food and service was amazing. I recommend getting a seat on the back deck if it's warm enough. We had mussels and the pear & prosciutto flatbread followed by a perfect creme brulee. This spot is great.
