Beautiful old inn , staff was exceptional and I have never eaten such tasty scallops,but definitely not worth the money. $20 and I got 5 scallops, very small container of heavily dressing chunky coleslaw, and the rest was soggy fries. Was sorely disappointed. Hubby got the striploin so I thought I'd eat his veggies.Absolutely gag inducing. The green bean(yes I only tried one) was wimpy and tasted as though it was reheated several times and the baby cut carrot was too mushy to be pierced with a fork. Service 5 star, food, 2 star. Definitely will not go again.
Beautiful inn right across from the main dock where whale watching tours start. They have a restaurant that unfortunately we didnt get a chance to eat at and a cozy pub where we enjoyed a nice cocktail! Would definitely stay here again if we are ever back in Saint Andrews.
Overall our experience was alright. However they did not inform us that our room (107)was above the main bar. Friday and Saturday from 7pm till12am they had live music a gentleman with guitar hooked to speakers. We could not hear our TV on those nights. We had to turn the volume to 41 to hear,Nor could we get to sleep. The whole room was vibrating. When we mentioned the above issues at front desk the young gentleman said he would get them to turn it down. Unfortunately this did not happen. If we had of been informed of the situation at the time of booking we would have waited an additional week.
We went here for our dinner only and had a seat on the patio overlooking the street. Interesting to watch the people going by for sure. The seating was fine. We ordered fish and chips. The service was good, no complaints, however the fish batter was not cooked as much as we would have liked and the fries the same, a little soft. However, still very eatable.
Great patio for "people watching". Food is good. Crab cakes and the chicken wings are two of my favorites. The inside dining room is quite charming as well.
